How Time Machine Rebuilds Your Portfolio’s Past

The Time Machine lets you travel back in time to see how your portfolio looked on any past date — but how accurate that view is depends on when you became a Degen.

From the day you became a Degen: 100% accurate snapshots

The moment you enable Degen Mode, CoinStats starts taking daily snapshots of your portfolio. These are exact captures - meaning every asset, balance, price, and total value is frozen in time and stored.

So, if you’re checking a date after you became a Degen, what you see is exactly what your portfolio looked like on that day. Nothing is reconstructed or estimated.

Dates before Degen Mode: Rebuilt from transaction history

Looking at a date before you turned on Degen Mode? In that case, we don’t have snapshots — so CoinStats tries to rebuild your portfolio by calculating your balance based on your transaction history.

This method uses:

  • Your connected wallet and exchange transaction data

  • All available deposits, withdrawals, buys, sells, and transfers

  • Historical prices

However, this reconstruction might be inaccurate if:

  • Some transactions are missing

  • Integration's API doesn't provide correct data

  • Other transaction related issues.

⚠️ Keep in mind: The further back you go before becoming a Degen, the more likely your portfolio view may contain gaps or inaccuracies.
